Override secure properties using runtime manager

In this tutorial we will demonstrate how can we override the secure properties using runtime manager

Sometime there is a need to update the secure property at runtime for example if the password is changed for any target system like database/Salesforce etc. we can easily update the password using runtime manager quickly without changing the code.

To demonstrate this I will create a sample application and define the secure property(visit this url for more detail) and override the same using runtime manager

Override secure properties using runtime manager

Deploy the application on cloudhub

To override the username and password at runtime, login to anypoint platform->go to runtime manager->select the environment->select the application-> go to settings->go to properties

Override secure properties using runtime manager

We can override the usename and password which is secured by using the text view or list view

To override the property in text view colons in property names must be escaped, for example: secure\:\:user

Text View Update

secure\:\:database.username=hhsb1yQuTHGDGFqSpIA==

secure\:\:database.password=gafhdhkghf659659bdkvbfk==

Table view update

Apply the changes, application will be updated with new changes
